HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hi dolls!
These days I've been incredibly snowed under with exams, but I couldn't avoid attending a Halloween party!
Last friday I went to Andrew's party. It has been great, a way better than expected! There were almost all the possible customs I've been thinking to exist and I had superfun!
My initial idea was to dress up as Wonder Woman but, after trying a couple of customs, Esmeralda/gipsy has been the choice!
My partner for the party was Harry Potter! Ale was so like to the real one!

In questi giorni sono stata incredibilmente impegnata con gli esami, ma non ho potuto evitare di andare ad un party di Halloween!
Venerdì scorso sono stata alla festa di Andrew. E' stato top, meglio meglio di quanto mi aspettassi! C'erano più o meno tutti i costumi che ho pensato esistessero e mi sono divertita tantissimo!
Inizialmente, volevo vestirmi da Wonder Woman ma, dopo aver provato un paio di costumi, Esmeralda mi ha conquistata!
Il mio partner per la festa è stato Harry Potter! Ale somigliava tantissimo all'originale!

I'm back!

Hi dolls! It's more than three months from my last post! It has been a long, long summer, full of fun, friends, love, sun and surprises! I didn't spent that much time in front of my pc and I prefered enjoying every single moment at home, laying down under the sun, spending quality time with my family and friends before a great new chapter of my life : I'm in Seattle!
As I told you months ago, I'm going to be here until the end of December, for my exchange program.
Classes started last week and I'm already scared of those big books that stare at me from my desk!
I met people from all over the world, and everyday I get in touch with someone new, from a different corner of the world! It's a great experience! Indeed, Seattle is an amazing city!
Today, I attended a bbq at the International House (many thanks to Tammy) and I decided to take some pictures, even if the weather wasn't at its best! Many thanks to Mussy (my incredible roomie) for pictures!
As soon as I can, I'll post pictures from my summer and from my first month in Seattle (yes, it passed away so fast!)!

Ciao a tutte!
Sono passati più di 3 mesi dall'ultimo post! E' stata un'estate lunghissima, piena di divertimento, amici, amore, sole e varie sorprese! Non ho passato molto tempo davanti al pc e ho preferito trascorrere la mia estate sdraiata sotto il sole, in compagnia dei miei amici e della mia famiglia prima di un nuovo grande capitolo della mia vita: Seattle!
Come vi avevo detto qualche mese fa, sarò qui fino a fine dicembre per il mio exchange program.
Le lezioni sono iniziate la settimana scorsa e sono già spaventata da tutti quei libroni che mi fissano da sopra la scrivania! Ho conosciuto persone da tutto il mondo e ogni giorno conosco gente nuova da ogni angolo del pianeta! E' un'esperienza meravigliosa! Inoltre, Seattle è una città meravigliosa.
Oggi sono stata ad un bbq all'International House (grazie mille a Tammy) e ho deciso di scattare qualche foto nonostante il tempo non fosse il top! Grazie mille a Mussy (il mio incredibile coinquilino) per le foto! A breve posterò le foto della mia estate e del primo mese a Seattle ( è già volato!).

I'm with Best

Hi everyone guys!
It's exams' time, again :(  but it's raining since days, so my studying is going on pretty well.
Last Monday, after my organizational behaviour exam, I reached my friend Enrico to support a very important cause: a photo-campaign against homophobia powered by Best.
I strongly support this cause since I believe that equal opportunities are a precondition for meritocracy, that our society it's so thirsty of. And by equal opportunities I mean same opportunities for men and women, black-white-yellow-green-hot pink, and even for etero, gay and lesbians. We cannot pursue a better society without building its roots.
However, the point is not just simple acceptance, but sharing...

Sono di nuovo sotto esami :( ma fortunatamente piove da giorni, quindi il mio studio procede abbastanza bene.
Lunedì, dopo il mio esame di fondamenti di organizzazione, ho raggiunto il mio amico Enrico per supportare una causa molto importante : una campagna fotografica contro l'omofobia organizzata dall'associazione Best.
Supporto fortemente questa causa in quanto credo che le pari opportunità siano una condicio sine qua non per la meritocrazia, di cui la nostra società ha tanta sete. E con pari opportunità intendo stesse opportunità per uomini e donne, neri-bianchi-gialli-verdi-fuxia, e anche per etero, gay e lesbiche. Non possiamo raggiungere una società migliore senza costruirne le radici.
In ogni caso, il punto non è accettare, ma condividere...

MILMUN 2011

Hi everyone!
Last week I've been really really busy! I've been attending Milan Model United Nations 2011, hosted by Bocconi University. As always, MUN is always a great and enriching experience. I've been representing USA at the Ecosoc. We had two hard topic to deal with, one of which it was the main reason I decided to attend this event: women empowerment and tax cooperation. We mainly focused on the first one, my favourite. It has been a hard week, but I had the chance to meet wonderful people I'll never forget.
I wanna thank all of you who made this experience unforgettable!

La scorsa settimana sono stata davvero impegnata! Ho partecipato al Milan Model United Nations, ospitato dall'università Bocconi. Come sempre, il MUN è un'esperienza fantastica e formativa. Ho rappresentato gli Stati Uniti all'Ecosoc. Abbiamo trattato due argomenti molto difficili, uno dei quali è stata la principale ragione per cui ho deciso di partecipare all'evento: women empowerment e la cooperazione fiscale. Ci siamo concentrati principalmente sul primo, il mio preferito. E' stata una settimana difficile, ma ho incontrato persone meravigliose che non dimenticherò!
Voglio ringraziare tutti voi che avete reso quest'esperienza indimenticabile!

Hi everyone!
Tonight, after a boring, really borign weekend, I went out with my friends for an "aperitivo" and then we had a walk to the Duomo and we took some pictures there. During we walk, we talk about lots of things, and I asked their point of view about the fact that "Miss Italia" is going to expand its size-range. From my point of view, it surely is a good starting point for a fashion democracy, but this expansion is again a concession, not a decision from the awareness about how the outside society really is. However, I'm happy for all the curvy girls that are going to join the competition!

Stasera, dopo un noioso, davvero noioso weekend, sono uscita con i miei amici per un aperitivo e una passeggiata fino al Duomo, dove abbiamo fatto alcune foto. Lungo la camminata abbiamo parlato di molte cose, e ho chiesto la loro idea circa l'espansione del range di taglie da parte di Miss Italia. Dal mio punto di vista, è certamente un ottimo punto di inizio per una democrazia della moda, ma questa espansione è nuovamente una concessione, non una decisione derivante dalla consapevolezza di come sia effettivamente la società esterna al fashion system. In ogni caso, sono contenta per tutte le ragazze con le curve che parteciperanno alla competizione!
